As usual, Our Parish Sisters will prepare for us a delicious lunch; and within the festive familiar circle of Our Parish, and for all those, who are visiting us on this Great Holiday Celebrated in Our Parish, of Saint Apostle Andrew, will satisfy Our daily physical needs and Our Eternal Spiritual needs, with the lovingly prepared meal, home style, all hand made by Our Parish Sisters. Commemoration
The primary prayer for the health of the living and for the repose of the deceased is done by the Church during the Divine liturgy. In
view of this, before the beginning of the liturgy one must submit special commemorative lists with the names of the living and
deceased. During the proskomedia, the priest will take small particles out of the prosphora in commemoration of the living and the
dead; these particles will be placed in the holy chalice and at the end of the liturgy will be steeped in the Blood of Christ as a symbol of
Christ’s cleansing of human sins. It should be remembered that commemoration during the Divine liturgy is the greatest gift we can give
to those who are dear to us.
At the top of the commemorative list is written “For the living” or “For the deceased,” under which we should clearly and legibly write
the names we wish to submit, making sure to place clergymen and monastics first and not forgetting to indicate their priestly rank.

Головні моління за здоров'я живих і за упокій померлим православних християн церква здійснює під час Божественної Літургії.
У зв'язку з цим, перед початком Літургії необхідно подати спеціальні пам'ятні записки із іменами живих і померлих. На
проскомидії, священик буде виймати дрібні частинки з просфори в пам'ять про живих і мертвих, і ці частинки будуть опущені у
святу чашу, а у кінці літургії будуть обмиті Кров'ю Сина Божого, як символ очищення Христом людських гріхів. Слід пам'ятати,
що поминання на Божественній літургії є найбільшим добром, що ми можемо дати для тих, хто нам дорогий.
У верхній частині записки вказується поминання "За живих" або "за спочилих", після чого, ми повинні чітко і розбірливо написати
поминальні імена, при чому першими поминаються священнослужителі і монахи не забувши вказати їхнього священного сану.

| The Easter celebration of 2010 is fast approaching. As in the past years, we take this opportunity to remember our dearly departed by sponsoring a Panachyda and sharing of a prepared meatless meal. Since we also use this as an opportunity to fundraise, it would be beneficial if we fill all the Sundays with more than one family sponsoring the luncheon. | Great Lent is a Period of Reconciliation with Others. First, in order to return to God during Lent, or any other time for that matter, we must want to do it! We must desire it and make the EXTRA EFFORT to accomplish it! We must have the desire equal to Zacchaeus to get to know Christ our God ! “Zacchaeus Sunday “ (Luke 19: 1-10) Secondly, we must become as the Publican, and recognize that we are sinners, and humble ourselves to ask forgiveness. We must not be, nor become, like the boastful Pharisee. For he that exalts himself will be humbled; and he who humbles himself will be exalted by the Lord. “The Publican and the Pharisee “ (Luke 18: 10-14) Thirdly, we have the lesson of the Prodigal Son and his return from the exile of sin. What a beautiful lesson to teach us the wonderful welcome our Father in heaven will give us, only if we take the steps to return to Him “The Prodigal Son” (Luke 15: 11-32) Fourth, Meatfare Sunday gives us the lesson of the absolute truth of the Last Judgment. It is a reminder, that we must put into action Christ’s command to love our neighbor. “Sunday of Meatfare (Last Judgment) “ (Matthew (25: 31-46) Lastly, there is Forgiveness Sunday. We are reminded of the necessity to forgive others if we are to be forgiven. Let me say that again. We must forgive others if we expect to be forgiven by God. “Forgiveness Sunday” (Matthew (6: 14-21) |
Великий Піст є періодом примирення з іншими:
По-перше, з тим, щоб повернутись до Бога під час Великого посту, або будь-який інший час, ми повинні
мати хотіння це зробити! Ми повинні бажати цього і зробити додаткові зусилля, щоб виконати це! Ми
повинні мати бажання Закхея, щоб дізнатись про Христа Бога нашого!

По-друге, ми повинні стати як митар, і визнати, що ми грішні, і просити прощення. Ми не повинні бути
подібними, як хвастливий фарисей. Бо, хто звеличує себе, буде понижений, а хто принижує себе, буде

По-третє, у нас є урок, "Блудний син" і його повернення з вигнанця гріха. Який гарний урок вчить нас про
чудове вітання нашим Небесним Отцем, який дасть нам в той спосіб, якщо ми приймемо всі можливі
заходи для повернення до Нього. “Блудний Син“ (Луки 15: 11-32)
По-четверте, М`ясопустна Неділя дає нам урок абсолютної правди про Страшний Суд. Це нагадування,
що ми повинні ввести в дію заповідь Христової любові до ближнього. “Неділя Мясопустна (Страшний
Суд) “ (Матфея 25: 31-46)
І нарешті, Прощена неділя. Ми нагадали про необхідність прощати інших, якщо ми хочемо бути
прощеними. Позвольте мені знову сказати. Ми повинні прощати інших, якщо ми хочемо бути прощені

| ОFFERINGS FOR THE DECEASED It is a pious and praiseworthy custom to pray for our deceased loved ones, and to make offerings to God in their names, for the remission of their sins and their repose in eternal life.
